A Time To Stitch Hosted by Therese Frank and Christine Altmiller

Thanks for stopping by to check out my post and my attempt to be a part of the  "A Time To Stitch" challenge.  What an honor to be included in this challenge with such incredible talent these ladies possess! The challenge included 4 stitches, however, only 2 were required to be demonstrated.  The 4 stitches were Spiral Rope, Chenille Stitch, Net Stitch, and Chevron Stitch.  Below is the Chenille stitch crafted with 6 pound weight Fireline, size 8/0 seed beads in pink and green.

Next is the Chevron Stitch crafted with 6 pound Fireline, size 8/0 seed beads 6mm Crystals and size 3mm crystals topped by a base metal toggle clasp.

The next bracelet is the Net Stitch.  I used 6 pound Fireline with size 11/0 seed beads
for the picot edging, 4mm crystals for the connection beads and darned if I can
remember what size the majority of the seed beads in the bracelet are.  I think they
are size 11/0 beads as well!

I had such an awesome time with this challenge!!! Kudos to our hosts on ATTS4, Therese Frank (my Bestie) and Christine Altmiller. This is my first challenge and my apologies for being a little late in posting, however, I am new to the blogging world and I'm a slow learner...hehehe..  I am so excited about doing more challenges as I like to be forced out of my comfort zone and learn more about beading and bead embroidery as well.  Please take time to check out the other ladies blog spots for their challenge pieces!

The best laid plans of mice and men....

Well as the title says... I was unable to get any pictures of my work posted this weekend as I have been fabulously busy!  I had a wonderful time with my "bestie" Therese Frank!!  We were involved in a church bazaar sale this weekend that lasted for two days! We were successful and quite happy with our sales this weekend.  I am going to have to cry off posting anything until the week after Thanksgiving as my husband and I are headed to North Carolina to spend the holiday with his family.  Of course I will be hitting some bead shops while I'm there!  Thanks for taking time out with me...have a blessed holiday.  God Bless......

Getting my feet wet....

My name is Crystie Marlette Willard.  I am an avid beader and have been beading for about 7 years now.  I've only been comfortable with freeform peyote for quite a while until a dear friend of mine Therese Frank talked me into expanding my horizons.  I've now added bead embroidery (which I am truly enjoying) and I am in the process of learning all the beading stitches. Beading is my peace and serenity where I can lose myself in the joy of creating with different sizes, textures, and color!  I am also a hairstylist and have been in the profession for 33 years now.  What a wonderful life I've had sharing good and bad times with friends who come in to get a new "lease on life" so to speak. More often than not, a new cut and color can change your whole perspective on how you are viewing your life. It sure changes mine!!!! Well, I will wind this up and leave you with my favorite verse...Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  God Bless you for taking time out to read my first blog post.  Pictures of my work, hair and beading, will be posted this weekend...
